Contractor FAQs

Will I be an employee of Lot & Lane?: No. Lot & Lane works with independent service businesses. You run your own business, use your own ABN and choose which offered work you accept.
Does applying guarantee work?: No. Every application is reviewed, and work is only offered where it suits your services, location and availability. We don't promise a volume of jobs.
What do you check before approving a business?: We review your ABN on the Australian Business Register, your insurance and any licence relevant to the work you do. We may ask for more information before deciding.
How are rates agreed?: Your indicative rates help us understand your pricing. Remuneration for each job is agreed before you accept it. You don't set or change the customer's quote.
Do I need to use ServiceM8?: Lot & Lane manages jobs in ServiceM8. Once approved, we may invite you to connect through ServiceM8 Network so job details can be shared. Joining is your choice and isn't automatic.
What happens to my information?: Your application is only seen by authorised Lot & Lane staff and is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.
